A 3D ship projected on to ‘curtains’ of water, in Amsterdam

Romania-based architecture collective visualSKIN arrived at the Amsterdam Light Festival with a splash this year, installing a three-dimensional projection of a 17-century ship against a backdrop of water. Titled ‘Ghost Ship,‘ the installation makes use of two intersecting images projected onto perpendicular curtains of water that can be viewed from multiple angles. Check it out

Instagram’s £22m valuation topples Twitter

Citigroup raised the valuation of Instagram from £12 billion to £22 billion, after they announced 300 million monthly active users. By comparison, Twitter has 284 million monthly active users, and after going public, its market cap is £15 billion. Read more here.

World’s first inside out house Is Deliberately Built To Be Incomplete

An Australian firm has built the unusual dwelling, quirkily named ‘Cut Paw Paw’, at the request of a client who wanted it to look “ridiculously inside-out”.

To construct the house, the firm used sliding walls and bifold doors and decks, and left parts of the building unfinished. The garden spills into the living room while the internal floorboards extend to the outdoors, creating a surreal illusion that blurs the lines between the interior and exterior.
