Although somewhat surprised that there’s a market big enough to justify the need to create mainstream advertising for Tena Men, I can’t help but admire its craft.
The Wes Anderson-esque casting, locations, art direction, wardrobe, direction, performances and editing have all been beautifully orchestrated to make one of the most amusing spots I’ve seen recently. Yessss you could argue that the construct bears some resemblance to that of another range of bathroom products aimed at men, but hey, I’d like to see how many of Adland’s greatest wouldn’t run a mile when faced with the words ‘male incontinence pads’.
So hats off to the team who took this and ran with it. It’s a great spot and there’s nothing weak about it.
