As retailers prepare to move into high gear with the promotions and events that will kick-off the holiday shopping season, it might come as a surprise to many eager shoppers to learn what the single most desired gift is on most people’s wish list. Recent findings from the DDB Life Style Study® indicate that from a long list of choices – including jewelry, apparel, accessories, appliances, electronics, and experiences – the single thing that adults want more than anything else is money. 31% of US adults cite cash as the thing they are most hoping to receive as a holiday gift this year, followed by gift cards to a retailer, which 14% of adults would prefer, and are, in many ways, tantamount to cash. This begs the question: Why is everybody so focused on shopping for gifts when we could all just open up our wallets and make most of our gift recipients quite happy?
DDB Canada’s Successful ShareDDB Programs Expands to the US

DDB Worldwide today announced that its corporate responsibility initiative, ShareDDB, is expanding to the United States this week. DDB employees in the New York Office will tap into their creativity and host a fundraising event to benefit a local charity. Other North American offices are planning Share events for early 2014.
Communication Arts Advertising Annual Selects 11 Campaigns Created by DDB Worldwide

Communication Arts, the largest international trade journal of visual communications, has released the results of its 54th Annual Advertising Competition, and the publication selected 11 campaigns created by DDB Worldwide. Out of the 11 campaigns, DDB North America received seven Awards of Excellence.
DDB New York Is Most Awarded US Agency at the London International Awards

DDB Worldwide is thrilled to announce that DDB New York was the most awarded US agency at the 28th Annual London International Awards (LIA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, this year. The agency took home three Gold statues, five Silver statues, and four Finalist honors for New York City Ballet’s “FAILE: Art Series,” WaterisLife’s “Hashtag Killer,” and New York Lottery’s “Invasion” and “Writer’s Room.”

The Art Director Club (ADC), the world’s premier organization for creative talent in integrated media and the first global creative collective of its kind, has selected Juan Carlos Pagan, Head of Design at DDB New York, as one of this year’s “Young Guns.” The Young Guns 11 Awards Ceremony will take place at the ADC in New York City on Thursday, Nov. 7.
