The co-founders of One Young World, the premier global forum that brings together young leaders to discuss global issues and develop solutions to meet the challenges of the 21st century, officially passed the baton for hosting the Summit to the city of Pittsburgh today with a ceremony held at Mayor Luke Ravenstahl’s office.

Pittsburgh has been crowned as the new host city for One Young World Summit 2012 after delivering a bid of “unparalleled passion”.

More than 1,200 young leaders from over 170 countries around the world will meet in Zurich today at the launch of One Young World 2011, to address the most challenging issues facing the world today.

Coming of age in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression has taken a serious toll on millennials, who maintain a generally pessimistic outlook on the future of the country, the effectiveness of its leaders and the possibilities awaiting young people themselves in the world of business, according to a new report released from One Young World, the global youth forum.

More than 100 young people from across North America will attend the second-annual One Young World, an international summit for young leaders aged primarily under 25 years old.
