RPA Hires Tim Leake as Director of Growth and Innovation in Series of Key Leadership Moves at the Agency

January 8, 2014

Leading independent ad agency RPA has hired Tim Leake, Hyper Island's former Global Creative Innovation and Partnership Director, for the newly created role of Director of Growth and Innovation, effective immediately. Reporting directly to Bill Hagelstein, CEO and President of RPA, Leake will lead business development for RPA and will play a key role as the agency continues to innovate growth strategies for clients.

Leake's hire is the third in a series of new leadership roles created to position RPA and its clients for growth in 2014. In December, Pete Imwalle, Chief Digital and Integration Officer and a 20-year veteran of RPA, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, to oversee and integrate the daily operations of the agency. Also in December, Mike Margolin, Director of Digital Marketing and a 10-year veteran of RPA, was promoted to lead RPA's media department as Director of Audience Strategy. Margolin will focus the department on multiplying the value of a clients' media spend through investment in audiences, not channels.

Hagelstein said, "RPA is kicking off 2014 with a strengthened team of proven agency leaders and digital innovators." He continued, "Pete Imwalle and Mike Margolin have each played a significant role in creating the fully -integrated, full-service ad agency we are today. And I'm thrilled that Tim Leake will spearhead RPA's growth, as he draws upon his broad experience facilitating transformation for the industry's top agencies and global brands to innovate solutions for RPA and our clients. I have no doubt this trio will be responsible for driving exponential growth for our clients, and for RPA, well beyond 2014."

Leake commented on his new role, "At Hyper Island I helped brands and agencies transform for the future, as well as understand the mindset it takes to create work that resonates in a digital world. What attracted me to RPA is that they're already doing this in their work for Honda, Farmers Insurance and Intuit. I also love that they are one of the last big, full-service independents out there, with world-class creative, a smart business brain, and employees who gush about its being the best place they've worked. I'm excited to lead their growth and create the future for RPA, by making sure we and our clients are ahead of it."
