Goodby, Silverstein & Partners & Chevrolet Win Gold in First-Ever Mobile Lions at Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2012

Super Bowl Game Time App Takes Top Honors in Brand New “Mobile” Category for
“Best Use of Multiple Screens”
Cannes, June 19, 2012 – Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (GSP) announced they have been awarded a prestigious Gold Lion in the brand new Mobile Category for “best use of multiple screens” for the Chevy Game Time app at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2012. The Chevy Game Time app was created to enhance second screen viewing during Super Bowl XLVI, allowing users to play games in real time and enter to win prizes, including 20 Chevys and thousands of other giveaways.
In addition to the attention-grabbing ads, Chevy’s Game Time app proved extremely successful with:
More than 703,000 registrations
More than 35 million page views
25 million trivia questions answered
Nearly 1.6 million hours spent on the app
A gain of more than 130,000 new fans on Facebook
and 9,000 new followers on Twitter
With so many ads during the Super Bowl, the Chevy Game Time app succeeded in breaking through the clutter and allowing users to experience Super Bowl Sunday in a whole new way. The app was the first of its kind, which makes it only fitting it earns the first-ever Mobile Cannes Lion.
“We are honored to win in what is certainly a pioneering, forward-looking category,” said Jeff Goodby, Co-Chairman and Creative Director of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Jeff Goodby (@JeffBadby), “Traditional media is being reborn with the addition of apps that make us see old media through new lenses.”
