LOS ANGELES, CA (August 09, 2012) ---- The recently announced Momentum Entertainment Group expands its television presence with the launch of a newly formed Scripted Entertainment division being led by BAFTA award-winning director and producer Nick Hamm. In addition, veteran producer and former TV executive Alex Maggioni will serve as Senior Vice President of Scripted Entertainment. The announcement arrives on the heels of last week’s acquisition of Hamm’s latest feature film, rock & roll comedy Killing Bono slated for theatrical release this fall.
In addition to traditional television production, Momentum Entertainment Group’s scripted department will develop material with an eye toward creating quality programming suitable for distribution across multiple platforms. Momentum Entertainment Group plans to leverage its significant relationships in the global community and advertising world to explore innovative business models for television production.
Marketing agency Momentum Worldwide announced the newly formed Momentum Entertainment Group led by Steven Marrs in June.
Momentum Worldwide’s Chairman and CEO Chris Weil stated, “The addition of a full scripted department helmed by a great talent like Nick Hamm is evidence of Momentum’s commitment to the entertainment space.”

Acclaimed director and producer of feature films, television and digital content, Hamm began his career as a resident director of the Royal Shakespeare Company before transitioning into television, directing award winning programming for both the BBC and ITV in the UK. Hamm has also directed numerous feature films, most notably THE HOLE (2001) for Pathé, GODSEND (2004) for Lionsgate and the critically acclaimed indie film KILLING BONO (2011), which was released by Paramount Pictures in March in the UK and was just acquired by ARC Entertainment and Xlrator Media for North American theatrical distribution this fall.
Joining Hamm on Momentum Entertainment’s scripted division team is Alex Maggioni who will serve as Senior Vice President of Scripted Entertainment. Maggioni brings an equally diverse range of television experience to the group with more than fifteen years in television production and development. Maggioni has worked as both a producer and network executive on comedy, drama and alternative series for broadcast, cable and internet distribution including SPIN CITY (ABC), PRISON BREAK (FOX), CHELSEA LATELY (E!) and AWESOMETOWN (Fox).
Rounding out the scripted department is Kevin Wandell, Manager of Scripted Entertainment, who joins Momentum Entertainment Group from HBO where he worked closely with the drama department. Prior to working at HBO, Wandell was at John Wells Productions.
