About me

Originally from France, Gaëlle graduated from London’s Royal College of Art in 2000 with an MA in Animation Direction. She won a BAFTA and a Cannes Cinéfondation selection in 2003 for Fish Never Sleep. In 2004, her short City Paradise was nominated for a BAFTA and won over 50 international awards.


Gaelle Denis has gained numerous accolades for her unique approach to story telling, she uses a broad range of techniques in her work including animation, live action and theatrical direction.


Denis has worked on a number of visually arresting commercials for clients including recent high profile work for NIKE, Coca Cola, Honda and United Airlines.


She is now completing Crocodile, a live action short funded through the BFI’s latest short film scheme. Blending an intriguing mix of beautifully art directed live action with animation, Gaëlle has been awarded a place on Torino Film Lab’s prestigious Adaptlab and subsequently on the Jerusalem Film lab to develop an ambitious script adaptation feature project. She was also awarded a place on Le Groupe Ouest and the Cross Channel Film Lab where she is developing an experimental 3D original feature script.
