London-based STUDIO AKA is a multi-BAFTA-winning animation production company known internationally for its idiosyncratic & innovative work.
Along with an impressively eclectic range of TV commercials & Broadcast idents created for clients such as LLOYDS, BBC, GUINNESS & BUPA, Studio AKA has also produced a stunning range of multi-award winning short & Medium length films, including:
‘JOJO IN THE STARS’: The BAFTA & Cartoon D’Or-winning debut by Director Marc Craste.
‘VARMINTS’: Directed by Marc Craste and based on the book by celebrated children's author Helen Ward. VARMINTS was shortlisted for an Oscar & nominated for the short animated film BAFTA in 2009. To date it has won 27 awards at international film festivals.
‘LOST AND FOUND’: Adapted & Directed by Philip Hunt, based on the award-winning children’s book of the same name by Oliver Jeffers. The film has received 61 major international awards including the 2009 BAFTA for Best Children’s Animation.
‘A MORNING STROLL’: Directed by Grant Orchard, the film tells the story of one New Yorker’s early morning encounter with a chicken, an event that plays out over 100 years. The film was awarded best animation at SUNDANCE 2012, was nominated for an Oscar and won the short animated film BAFTA 2012.
STUDIO AKA are currently in development on their first feature length production, in addition to producing a new 52x7min series for Children.
