Director

Melbourne, Australia

Exit Films is an independent directors’ collective that has become one of the most awarded producers of television commercials and music videos in Australia.

It was founded in 1995 by Danish born Henrik Dannerfjord, whose vision was to create a commercially successful Australian studio where directors could work independently in a supportive environment.

A converted Richmond warehouse was home to Exit for the first 9 years, where Dannerfjord built a creative home for directors to further their professional careers while developing personal projects. Exit Melbourne has since moved to a new home in South Melbourne, and the company has expanded to include offices in Sydney and Auckland.

The same philosophy endures – to give directors their own workspace but allow free communication between peers, encouraging them to collaborate, compete, inspire each other and share troubleshooting tips.

This is why Exit remains one of the most fresh and exciting creative places to be.
