Jean-Yves Lemoigne navigates between photography and film to create memorable graphic imagery such as his melting worlds for Perrier (Silver Lion Cannes 2009) or his subversively sexy Pixxel series in Amusement Magazine.
Jean-Yves began his career as an art director with DDB Paris, learning the ropes for five years and earning several prizes including an Epica Award.
Since then, Jean-Yves has become one of the most regarded French photographers of his generation, working for agencies such as: CLM BBDO London, DDB Paris, DDB San Francisco, DDB Hamburg, Euro RSCG BETC, Leo Burnet Toronto, Ogilvy Paris, Publicis Paris, Saatchi&Saatchi NY, Springer&Jacoby Amsterdam, TBWA Paris, WCRS London, etc.
His photography for Perrier, HP, Stihl, VW and others earned him many awards at the Cannes Lion Festival, New York Festival, Clio, EPICA, Eurobest and French Art Director’s Club.
As a photographer, he has a very important production for personal works but also editorials for magazines, with series for Amusement Mag, Le Monde, Libération, Rosebuzz Magazine, Technikart Mademoiselle, Vision ART Magazine (Beijing), WAD Magazine, etc, where he explores different universes: sports, light and shadow, sexuality…
For Jean-Yves, film is an extension of his photographic work, he is only interested in stories that allow him to continue his visual exploration. This can be seen both in his personal work and in films for INPES or RSF where he shows an amazing ability to find original aesthetics that serve the story he’s telling; another striking example is the 70’s scientific film look he created for Reporters Without Borders.
Often surreal, humorous and sensual, Jean-Yves’ films always use powerful visual language in creative and thought provoking ways. To discover this prolific artist, don’t hesitate to visit his own website
