Director and motion designer Sam Stephens was born on a boat off the shores of Antigua, upon which he lived until the tender age of 3, before relocating to Florida and then finally setting down roots in NYC. Sam has been with humble since our inception in 2006; he is an integral part of every aspect of life here. Swapping hats and juggling gigs, he's been a part of over 20 diverse projects in the last year, serving as director, writer, animator, editor, compositor, and designer. Sam has also been building and overseeing humble's entire post department. He has directed spots for Bacardi, Grapenuts, Axe, TV Guide, American Idol, and Universal Records. In addition to his expertise behind a camera, Sam has edited, composited, and animated many more spots for clients such as Estee Lauder, Lemonheads candy, Grape Nuts, AXE, National Geographic, TV Guide, Honeywell, Hit Entertainment, Golf Channel, ESPN, IKEA and KRAFT. When not spinning so many artistic plates, he likes to drink wine and relax in his Manhattan apartment with his beautiful UN wife, Mari, and their invisible cat, Kafka. He also loves whales and the color blue.
