James Bond 24: SPECTRE – What’s in a name?

Spectrecom was conceived as a film production company way back in 1993. We’ve developed a reputation for ourselves as a highly ethical business, working with (and for) charities, implementing the highest environmental standards, and placing corporate responsibility at the centre of our activities from the word go. So it’s rather unfortunate that our good name has been linked to the activities of a global crime organisation headed up by a one Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

SPECTRE is the fictional crime organisation and now the title of Eon Productions’ 24th instalment of Ian Fleming’s James Bond franchise. Blofeld is the villainous genius intent on world domination and SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion) is his instrument.

Fortunately Spectrecom’s own global ambitions are somewhat more muted and we can confidently say that not only does our own leader (MD Andrew Greener) not parade around in Nehru-collared suits, or own a fluffy white cat, his pricing strategy for 2015 shows that he’s not interested in Extortion either! We wish the producers of Spectre every success with the new film and can’t wait for its release on 23 October 2015.
