Story It tells the story of an ordinary car journey, told drop by drop. During the opening scene, we see a single drop of fuel suspended within an engine cylinder. We then see a series of drops combusting within the cylinder, which are then revealed to be propelling a car forward via unique and abstract footage of a journey. Real drops of fuel were ignited and filmed to create the unique and visually arresting combustion images.
Philosophy To create a film that shows how the i-VTEC engine combusts every drop of fuel as fully as possible depending on the driving needs. The film tries to show how Honda thinks about each and every drop. It's amazing how beautiful combustion actually is.
Problem Dramatise Honda’s unique i-VTEC engine technology and position the brand as a manufacturer of highly fuel efficient, yet powerful cars.
