On June 12, Microsoft announced Jeff Bell has decided to pursue other opportunities outside Microsoft.
As corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Corp., Jeff Bell was responsible for worldwide marketing strategies and plans for the Xbox and Games for Windows businesses. His team served Microsoft Game Studios games, the Xbox and Games for Windows platforms and brands, global marketing promotions for Xbox Live, and customer relationship management.
Bell joined Microsoft in June 2006. His team produced several launch campaigns, including ?Gears of War,? ?Halo 3,? ?Guitar Hero III,? ?Rock Band? and ?Scene It? Lights, Camera Action.? The first two launches received accolades, including Advertising Age?s Entertainment Marketer of the Year in 2007 and the Marketing 50 Award in 2008. Following the record-setting launch of ?Halo 3,? Bell was named to Advertising Age?s 2007 Marketing 50. Also, Next-Gen.biz included Bell in the Top 25 People of 2007 for his vision behind the ?Believe? campaign for ?Halo 3.? Bell was praised for his leadership in building the Xbox 360 reputation for having the best games available in the industry, through grassroots efforts and impressive marketing strategies. Bell brings a consumer marketing perspective and innovation to the Interactive Entertainment Business from his most recent experience at the Chrysler Group, where he was largely credited with helping revitalize the Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler brands. In 2005, he recognized by Advertising Age as Interactive Marketer of the Year. He received the MediaPost Online All-Star Award in 2005 and was recently named one of the 21 Most Intriguing People in Marketing by min Magazine.
Bell holds a bachelor?s degree in history and Spanish from Kenyon College, a master?s degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as a trustee on the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, at his alma mater, Kenyon College.
