Philosophy | The cut-through idea When Neal Colyer, our Creative Director, was at home with his baked beans on toast on his lap and pint of beer in his hand, waiting to watch The Office, his favourite TV sitcom, he remembered that he had read that a disabled character was being introduced into the programme. This started a series of phone calls, which resulted in Ricky Gervais agreeing to star in the commercial free of charge, with Microsoft paying for a Cinema campaign. The Result The Guardian review has voted the commercial the 6th best of all time, but more importantly, hits to the site have risen by over 300% |
Problem | The Background Our client, Totaljobs came to us and asked if we would help to generate awareness and usage of their charity website, Jobability.com which is a site dedicated to finding jobs for disabled people. The Challenge The challenge was how, with no budget to speak of, we were going to raise the profile of Jobability and increase usage of the site. We were informed that Totaljobs had been partnered in this venture by Microsoft, whom we collectively approached for promotional funds. Their response was that ideas could be considered. |
