Story | People in India have the habit of chewing tobacco wrapped in betel-nut leaves (called paan) and spitting the juice out on the nearest wall. 49% of oral cancer cases are a result of chewing tobacco in this form. Betel-juice stains being a deep red colour, resemble bloodstains. So wherever we found them, we put up the message chewing tobacco kills to remind people of the consequences of this dangerous habit. |
Result | An increased public awareness about the fact that chewing tobacco causes oral cancer. |
