About me

Mighty Nice, is led by Nexus’ previous Head of 3D, Darren Price. Their first short film ‘Potapych: The Bear Who Loved Vodka’ scooped a BAFTA for ‘Best Animation’.

Darren’s previous experience includes the short film ‘Show & Tell’ which saw off competition from Pixar and Sony Imageworks to win Best Short at the Copenhagen 3D Animation Festival, as well as picking up Best 2D Animation Design for their SBS Idents at the Promax/BDA Awards 2009.

Since opening the studio in 2008, year on year the studio has grown steadily to become one of Australia’s finest animation studios. Mighty Nice won ‘Best animation Studio’ in 2009 in the Hotshop Awards, and were finalists in 2010 and 2011. One of Nexus' most awarded films is the Nike Foundation’s “The girl effect”. Winning a BAF award, Mighty Nice gained further recognition when it was included in TEDtalks’ Ten ads Worth Spreading.

Continuing to pull together quality work for global and local brands, Darren is currently also developing a number of children's animation series.
