Story Kids in developing countries may need our help, but contrary to what many charity campaigns make us believe, they're anything but helpless. 58 million children around the world don't go to school but their resourcefulness knows no bounds – in fact, they could probably teach our children a thing or two. Dubai Cares has created a first-of-its-kind skill exchange between children in developing countries and developed countries. Through YouTube tutorials they taught the children of Dubai the skills they’ve learned. All they asked in return is that Dubai’s people teach them to read by donating. And that’s what they did. Dubai Cares has more than doubled last year’s contributions during Ramadan. But more than that, Dubai Cares has shown that children in developing countries have real potential – if they can do something with almost nothing, imagine what they can achieve with a little help.
