Story | “I always imagined there was just one Paris,” says the female narrator, “of monuments, museums and parks.” But thanks to her Airbnb host, André, she discovers “a different Paris” of flea markets, hidden squares, cellar jazz bars and local bistros. “In this Paris, I truly lived like a Parisian, in a home I could call my own,” she says. With Airbnb, belong anywhere. |
Problem | Objective: Through this campaign Airbnb wanted tocreate a film using a combination of live action and 3D Zoetrope animation to reflect a feeling of real belonging for travelers as they discover Paris through the eyes of their hosts. Concept: The films were developed to show in true Airbnb fashion, how the ordinary world can become an altogether different, more magical world. Using various filmmaking techniques; including Motion Control, live action, miniature models & a giant 3D Zoetrope which was built specifically for the shoot. The models comprised of 11,256 parts, including 1,476 figurines to create the illusion of seamless motion. All of these techniques work together to create a world of fantasy and pull the viewer into the magic of Paris, and the possibilities when staying as an Airbnb guest. Target Audience: The films are part of a campaign ‘A Different Paris’ specifically created for Airbnb’s Asian markets. Three versions were created for China, Japan, Korea and was launched in August 2015, and aired on TV, Online / Social – Youtube, Tencent, Naver and Yahoo!Japan, as well as media sites as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WeChat. |
