Our reason for being:
In a word, we are about performance. R3 (www.rthree.com) was set up in 2002 in response to an increasing need from Asian marketers to enhance their relationships and their return on investment with their agencies.
Our background:
We are the Asia Pacific arm of a global consulting group. Since 1972, the group has conducted over 2,000 assignments globally. We have four offices in Asia and partners in Australia and Japan. Since 2002, we’ve worked with 20 clients in 20 countries and 100 agencies.

Remuneration ROI - we consult in analyzing agency compensation in
detail and establishing fee based and incentive based schemes, using our
benchmarks for 25 Asian cities on all aspects (direct, indirect, profit, incentives)
Review ROI - We assist in identifying, reviewing and compensating the best agency
selection, be it a creative, media, CRM, BTL, PR or interactive agency
Relationship ROI - We help in evaluating and improving agency relationships as a third
party using an R3 proprietary online tool and process, along with our consulting skills
Marketing ROI Workshops - We offer workshops on enhancing a marketing team’s performance, knowledge and skills of communication and of media
Media ROI Analysis
- We offer professional analysis of the media process, planning and buying with proprietary benchmarks and tools to set and measure performance
In addition, we also offer Asian marketers workshops on enhancing the quality of their marketing personnel at the agency interface, as well as counsel on regional/local client – agency structures
How we do it:
We have now analyzed 250 marketers and their agency fees across China and Asia
We recently partnered with JP Morgan for a study of media trends in the region
Each month we exclusively track over 200 agency new business wins for Media magazine
We are the only external judges of Media’s Asia Pacific Rankings and Agency of the Year
We recently co-authored a book “Sharpening the Saw” about our analysis of agency fees
We maintain an ongoing database of media costs for key Asia Pacific markets
We have co-developed software to measure agency and media performance in Asia
