Before Lucienne got into academia in 2012, she had extensive hands on experience in professional communications. She was a successful copywriter and journalist in diverse fields, such as healthcare, business, and arts. She worked as a Senior Consultant at a public relations agency, and in that capacity served as a judge on a newspaper advertising competition several times. Lucienne also worked on the client side as an interim Internal Communications Manager and as a Senior Communications Adviser. She has lived and worked in Australia for over eight years, but has recently moved to brainport Eindhoven, one of the smartest cities in the world. Lucienne holds a PhD in Management (Human Resource Development) from the University of Canberra in Australia, and a Master in Sociolinguistics from Tilburg University in The Netherlands. She was a lecturer at the University of Canberra (Faculty of Arts & Education; Faculty of Business, Government and Law), the University of New South Wales/Australian Defence Force Academy (Department of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences), and the INHolland University of Applied Sciences (School of Management, Economics and Law). She has taught a wide variety of courses and units, ranging from Professional Communication, Management, and Creativity to Marketing Research, Mixed Methods Research, and Transport Geography.
