The students, all in their first and second years of the course, have been selected as winners of the Beano Brief which asked entrants to reimagine and evolve an existing female Beano character, then bring the design to life with a short animation.
The pencils levels will be revealed at the New Blood Awards ceremony for first year students Devon Short, Cameron Cook, Prathik Poojary and Haraldur Pétursson, and second year students Hannah Sessler, Bach Do and James Parker who submitted their entry as a team.
Ben Simpson, Senior Lecturer BA (Hons) Animation said:
“We are very happy with the calibre of work being created by all our levels of academic study. The success at D&AD New Blood demonstrates the high level of emerging talent coming through right from first year and progressing up through the course”
The awards will be held in London on Thursday 12 July, as part of New Blood Festival 2018.
