Concept before execution. Strategy before style. Messages that combine powerful language and compelling imagery. This is the philosophy of the Advertising program at OCAD University. Taught by industry practitioners, it emphasizes project-focused work and teaching through lectures, presentation, personal consultation, in-class critiques and collective intelligence.

You’ll produce complete advertising campaigns for a broad spectrum of media, including TV, radio, billboards, magazines, the online space and emerging technologies by integrating elements such as type, photography, illustration, sound and graphics.
Lectures on brand positioning, brand development, brand narrative, market research and pre- and post-production analysis are integral to the curriculum. A mandatory laptop program enhances the learning environment and develops essential skills.
