South Ural State University (SUSU) is the center of educational, scientific, and cultural life in Chelyabinsk region. Founded in 1943 as Chelyabinsk Mechanical Engineering Institute, the university was reorganized into South Ural State University and was assigned the status of a National Research University in 2010. In 2016 the University was included into the federal program “5/100” focused on supporting five leading Russian Universities to become leaders in the global market of higher education and be awarded a rank in top-100 universities according to major global rankings (THE or QS).
South Ural State University provides 245 higher professional education programs (Specialist’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s programs) and postgraduate education programs in 86 academic majors, doctorate programs in 12 majors, and facilitates 18 dissertation committees that examine doctoral and candidate’s dissertations.
Marketing Department of SUSU offers bachelor’s degree program in Advertising and PR, and master’s degree program in Marketing. The department has well equipped laboratories to help cultivate future specialists in advertising and PR. They are Centre of Advertising Technologies, Publishing House, and University Exhibition Centre. The department issues a monthly magazine “Community”, and holds two annual students’ festivals in advertising and PR: “International Students’ Festival of Advertising and PR “Green Apple” and Russian Students’ Olympiad “Art Design in Advertising”.
The mission of SUSU is to create, communicate and apply scientific knowledge and educate a new generation of leaders, capable of solving global problems of sustainable development.
