Big Spaceship’s multidisciplinary team structure and progressive culture have been profiled by Harvard Business School in 2008 and again in 2016, with the case study now taught at business schools in 40 countries.
Speaking on creativity, innovation and the evolution of business, Michael has engaged global audiences at Cannes Festival of Creativity, AdAge and Adweek events, SXSW, Click:NY and Click:London, ad:tech and OMMA, as well as at business schools including NYU Stern, Long Island University and SLU's Institute for Private Business.
He frequently chairs and sits on juries for creative awards, and he has led the agency widespread industry recognition that includes an Emmy Award nomination for the agency’s work with HBO Voyeur, Cannes Lions, Clios, Webbys, Andys, and One Show Interactive Pencils. Michael was also named among the 2010 Creativity 50 and the 2008 OMMA Online All-Stars.
As President, Rob oversees the running of the agency, the development of client relationships and the disciplines of the agency that drive both. His years at the helm of Big Spaceship have brought the agency progressive growth in capability, talent, and strength of partnerships. Equal parts agency leader, relationship builder and creative contributor, Rob brings 18 years of agency expertise to Big Spaceship. His work includes launching Unilever’s AXE at BBH NY, joining Mother NY as its first strategist stateside, all the way to leading several flagship accounts at BBDO NY. Most recently, Rob was leading the largest portfolio of business at the Publicis Network’s MRY, made up of Digital and Social AOR relationships.
Cedric serves as the Chief Creative Officer of Big Spaceship. He is charged with growing and overseeing the creative output of the agency's work across all clients. This includes everything from video production for Converse, to influencer led campaigns for YouTube, to a site launch for the Guggenheim Museum.
Before joining Big Spaceship, Cedric served as Chief Creative Officer of MRY. During his tenure the agency was named OMMA Social Media Agency of the Year and Mashable Digital Innovator of the Year. Prior to MRY, in 2010 he was recruited to help launch LBi in the US with the merger of Special Ops Media and Icon Nicholson. Over the next 4 years, the New York agency became the most awarded agency in the LBi Network. Previous experience includes almost a decade leading the creative vision at TribalDDB and Grey Worldwide.
Cedric has led work with a diverse client set that includes AT&T, Adobe, Coca-Cola, Sony and Johnson & Johnson. His work has been recognized by the One Show, Clios, Webbys, Shorty’s, ANDYs, LIAA, Lovie Awards and the 2012 SXSW People’s Choice Award.
As Chief Strategy Officer, Andrea Ring is responsible for leading Big Spaceship’s strategy discipline and evolving the overall strategic vision and approach for the agency. She has set the lens through which we view every challenge ranging from a socially infused product customization tool for a confidential performance apparel brand to a Snapchat partnership with Samsung.
Previously, Andrea was the SVP of Planning/Experience Planning at R/GA, where, over the course of nearly a decade, she built up a team of 40 planners and helped brands such as Nike, Google, and Samsung figure out how to rethink their businesses and develop meaningful relationships with the right consumers. Before joining R/GA Andrea worked as a brand planner with J. Walter Thompson, Bigchalk.com, and Digital Pulp Advertising.
Over the course of her career, Andrea has been awarded numerous strategy and creative awards, and has spoken passionately about the future opportunities for brands in the connected age. She believes that every project, regardless of its form, should start with a crisp and inspiring human insight.
Arthur oversees the Engineering, Data Science and DevOps teams at Big Spaceship. He is responsible for the ongoing delivery of optimally performing, engaging, cross platform experiences. Utilizing a lean development approach, Arthur and his team have been responsible for execution on a diverse array of products, including a learning management system for YouTube, a cross platform, video-based content website for Ken Burns and service architecture/development for JetBlue.
Arthur arrived at Big Spaceship in the fall of 2016 from Lowe Profero, where he served as Head of Technology, Americas, following nine months as Partner and Senior Vice president, Technology at New York digital agency Rumble Fox. He also served in leadership roles at New York social media agency Attention and CP+B Canada.
Mary Lou Bunn leads Marketing and Business Development at Big Spaceship. In this role she collaborates with the agency’s multidisciplinary teams and brands across industries, discovering paths to reach audiences in meaningful and innovative ways. Mary Lou brings to the agency over 15 years of experience forging partnerships and developing business strategy.
Early in her career Mary Lou’s work was design-focused, both on the brand side with Andre Balazs’ Standard Hotel Group and luxury portfolio, and on the creative side for firms such as Richard Meier & Partners and ESI Design. Mary Lou’s agency experience includes leadership roles at Huge, where she co-built the new business team as a discipline and led development efforts, and most recently Lloyd&Co. where she headed Business Strategy, working with clients such as PepsiCo, Estee Lauder, Bottega Veneta and adidas.
Victor is the fearless leader of the Big Spaceship Social & Content team. Victor came to social media through his work in documentaries. He wrote, produced and marketed the award-winning film Second Skin – opening night movie of SXSW ’08, distributed internationally in ’09. He followed it up with the documentary that launched Motherboard, Vice’s tech channel.
While at Big Spaceship, Victor was lead copywriter and strategist for Skittles during its first three years on Facebook & Twitter, growing its fanbase to over 25M with one of the highest engagement rates on the platform. His clients have since included YouTube, Google, Crayola, Wrigley, Lucasfilm, Sonos and Chobani. He was listed in Business Insider’s 30 Most Creative People In Social Media, PR Week's Innovation 50, and has written articles for Fast Company, Ad Age, Mashable, Psychology Today, BoingBoing and Vice.
Heather Harrigan serves as VP, User Experience at Big Spaceship and is a seasoned Experience Designer with the full range of UX and strategic planning skills, specifically focusing on the intersection of brand, product & business strategy within the digital landscape.
Most recently Heather served as Group Experience Director at Huge working on Toys R Us and Walmart. Prior to Huge, she was Head of UX and Strategy at Tribal DDB for Mars and Pfizer brands, and SVP, User Experience at Rokkan, an agency known for its work on behalf of Chipotle, JetBlue and many other pioneering brands.
Heather has also worked at DailyCandy, frog design and Proxicom for clients including Wellpoint, General Mills, Gain Capital, Caesars, Citi, Canon, Purina, JP Morgan, GE and the New York Times.
As SVP Director of Client Services at Big Spaceship, Laura is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of business at the agency, as well as the growth and development of the client services discipline and development of client relationships. Prior to joining Big Spaceship, she served at Huge for five years as VP, Marketing and Group Engagement Director. During her tenure there she was responsible for marketing Huge across the US, focusing on brand communications, thought leadership, CRM and overseeing the American Express business. For Amex, Laura provided strategic direction and guidance across the three+ year, preferred agency partner relationship.
