Bright Red Leadership and Team Members

Curtis Zimmerman

Curtis Zimmerman

President / CEO

Curtis began his career in account management in Atlanta at the Southeast office of legendary Doyle Dane Bernbach. The Atlanta Business Chronicle soon named him the “Rising Star” in Atlanta’s Advertising Industry. His efforts were rewarded when, at 27, he was named the first partner to be added in the 20-year history of the city’s largest independent agency. In 1987 — with no clients, little money and a strong desire to raise their children in a smaller city — he and wife Carrie moved to Tallahassee to launch Bright Red. Curtis has been responsible for the growth and development of advertising, digital and social media as the agency ascended and became one of the largest and most creative in the South. His experience and commitment to strategy has been the backbone of agency client planning. It’s no surprise that he is actively involved in Momentum Planning which keeps him involved in our client’s business on a daily basis.

Carrie Zimmerman

Carrie Zimmerman

CEO / Public Relations

To understand Carrie’s unparalleled penchant for perfection, you should first look beyond her professional accomplishments to uncover her athletic roots. Carrie was a member of the 1976 United States Olympic Team, and was the first American woman to score a perfect 10 in gymnastics. She took a similar approach to the business world when she quickly rose to become the account director for Burson-Marsteller on the Coca-Cola account. Under her leadership, Bright Red's team has grown to become one of the largest PR firms in the U.S., and has been recognized as the number one firm in Florida for 18 consecutive years. Trust us when we say Carrie leaves an impression wherever she goes. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious, and her drive for perfection is why our PR teams consistently exceed the expectations of peers, clients and the media.

Andy Jorishie

Andy Jorishie

EVP / Ideas & Innovation

Andy began his 25-year journey in the advertising business at Y&R NY, where he spent nearly a decade working on some of the agency’s largest brands, including: The Walt Disney Company, CitiBank, US Army and People Magazine. From there, he took a greater leadership role in strategy when he joined Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, and was responsible for the EFFIE Award-winning Citibank AAdvantage account and Sony’s foray into the online business. Andy joined Bright Red in 2004, and has played a key role in the development of the agency’s planning discipline. He is highly involved with and loved by all of our clients, which has allowed him to amass knowledge and experience from many categories including travel, CPG, financial services, telecom, automotive, fashion, restaurant, and retail.

Liz Paradise

Liz Paradise

Chief Creative Officer

Liz is one of the most heralded creative talents to come out of the South. She earned her agency experience working on major brands at the Martin Agency and as the Executive Creative Director at McKinney. She later joined Disney as the Creative Director of their in-house agency. Her diverse experience includes cars, insurance, finance, fashion, athletic gear, travel and tourism, fast food, nutrition and airlines. She is known for making great work in a positive environment, which is why clients and agency teams alike adore working with her. She has judged at Cannes and the One Show and her work has been awarded at Cannes, One Show, D&AD, CA, Effies, Graphis Top 100 Campaigns, Lurer’s Archive, the Webby’s, the New York Festivals and more.

Jason Hatfield

Jason Hatfield

EVP / Client Services Director

Known for his honesty and ability to earn trust from both clients and creative teams, Jason spent the majority of his career in Atlanta leading Account Service teams at Bigelow Advertising, Fletcher Martin and Doner. His broad range of senior management and direct strategic experience includes working with clients like Coca-Cola, Time Warner Cable, Ovation Brands, Church’s Chicken, Carvel, AOL, and more. He joined The Zimmerman Agency in 2014, because he saw a great collection of talent worthy of making Tallahassee the next advertising hub of the southeast. He’s doing his part by being a model leader on our Krystal business, and inspiring everyone on his team to be a valuable client partner. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Jason serves on the Southeast AAAA’s Board of Governors, as well as Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism’s Ad Department Executive Board.

Jennifer Kennedy

Jennifer Kennedy

SVP / Digital Director

Jenn is a proven digital leader with more than fifteen years working with clients and agencies to capture a larger share of the digital landscape. She brings a deep skill set in all things digital including content strategy, brand development and deployment, SEO and SEM, email and SMS marketing, e-commerce integration, CRM and ROI-driven customer acquisition campaigns. Prior to joining Bright Red, she consulted directly with agencies to improve the implementation of digital solutions. Since joining the agency she has been a key engine in the evolution of all things digital. Clients consistently give her high praise for her process-driven approach and calming confidence.

John Nicholas

John Nicholas

SVP / Media Director

Four years into his career, John was named the “Rising Media Star” in South Florida. He made a strong name for himself as a senior media planner and buyer at Beber Silverstein, and then with Crispin, Porter & Bogusky, establishing an envious career path among his contemporaries. When he decided to move his family to Tallahassee, we jumped at the chance to have him join our team. While the agency’s depth in media is considerably buoyed by our Omnicom advantage, it is John’s astute planning and commitment to creativity that makes the relationship work for our clients. In addition to analyzing data and finding brilliant strategies, he works closely with the entire brand team to architect a connection map. This takes into account every piece of media that will be used, it’s purpose and how it interacts with everything else in the market.

Stephanie Sumner

New Business, Public Relations

Stephanie Sumner

SVP / Client Development

Ad agency new business is often compared to dating. Since Stephanie did a whole lot of dating before getting married, it’s no surprise she’s found her niche matching agencies with like-minded clients. She joined Bright Red in 2016 to help the agency grow our brand and work with clients for whom we can do our best work. A Carolina girl, she spent 18 years at McKinney using her industry relationships and new business best practices to help them build an enviable client list that included the likes of ESPN, Sony, Travelocity, Nike, and Virgin. She is a master of the details and knows how to make teams shine. Stephanie is a proud Tar Heel, having followed Michael Jordan from Laney High School to UNC-Chapel Hill, and is a member of the 4As New Business Committee.
