About China Times Group
The Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards was founded in 1990 by the China Times Group to primarily expand Taiwan's advertising vision and encourage professional exchanges within the Asia-Pacific region. The first Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards caused quite a stir. The chairman of the selection committees of six major international advertising awards - the Clio, New York Festivals and IBA Advertising Awards of the United States; the Dentsu Awards and ACC Awards of Japan, and the IAFF/Lion Awards of France. Young & Rubican Chairman Tim Pollak of New York, Saatchi & Saatchi Chairman Richard Humpheys of the UK, McCann-Erickson International Chairman Robert L. James and IAA President Norman Vale all addressed the awards ceremony. The organizer also invited world-renowned advertising guru Mr. John Doig, who served as chairman of the judging panel. The awards ceremony has created not only a regional stir but also attracted the attention of the international community.
Since then, the Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards has continued to uphold its founding principle by striving to provide the advertising professionals throughout the Asia-Pacific region with more opportunities for learning and professional exchanges. Each year, internationally acclaimed advertising professionals are invited to serve on our panel of judges to raise the standard of the event and the quality of the learning opportunities. These have included John Doig, Andrew Cracknel, Tony Cox, Gordon Fenton, Neil French, Mike Fromowitz, Bhanu Inkakwat, Paul Johns, Leonie Ki, Tomotsu Kishii, John Kyriakou, Jimmy Lam, Tomaz Mok, Grinfranco Moretti, Allan Thomas, Peter Soh and many others. The Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards is now a major annual activity within the Region. Currently, more than one thousand entries have come in from Japan, Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand.
