The festival is scheduled on June 9-11.

Annually, over 1000 entries from all around the world participate in the festival. In challenging 2020, White Square reached a new level of organization in online format,  that even expanded the geography of participants. It is easy to submit the entries on official website adfest.by. Till February 28 the participants are provided with special participation fees.

 

Contest program of White Square 2021 includes all the communication spectrum:

Creativity: Film, Print, Radio & Audio, Outdoor, Integrated, Branded Сontent & Entertainment.

Branding: Communication Design, Packaging Design, Digital & Interactive design.

Marketing: Brand Experience & Activation, PR, Direct, Innovations.  

Marketing Effectiveness

Media: Channels, Excellence in Media, Media Campaign.

Digital:Digital, Mobile, Creative Data.

Craft: Film Craft, Print & Outdoor Craft, Excellence in Radio & Audio.

White Square 2021 entries will be evaluated by seven international jury line-ups: Creative, Branding, Marketing, Digital, Media. The Grand Prix of the festival – will be decided by special Grand Jury consisting of the Chairmen of jury. An international Mass Media jury line-up will give an assessment of entries from the standpoint of industrial media. On July 9, the Award Ceremony of the winners of one of the largest creative events in Europe – International Advertising Festival White Square, which this year was the first time held online and performed on the international stage under the slogan Time to Win! This year, 937 entries from participants from 31 countries competed for festival awards in Creativity, Branding, Creative Effectiveness, Marketing, Media, Digital and Change for Good categories. Jury discussions were held in the format of live conferences with participation of highly recognized and awarded creative directors of the leading agencies from around the world. Alena Ustinovich, Chairman of Board of Association of Communication and Marketing Agencies of Belarus, producer of White Square festival, noted: « For communications industry, this year has been a real challenge in every country around the world, a challenge for each of us and for our teams. Today, as never before, our industry needs a fresh breath, a portion of inspiration and a bit of creative adventurism, which we ourselves usually carry to all spheres of the economy, culture and society as a whole, thanks to Advertising Festivals in general and White Square in particular. This news was reported on March 16 by Alena Ustinovich, The Chairman of Board of Association of Communications and Marketing Agencies of Belarus, producer of White Square festival: “We hope for progress in the fight against this new virus and stabilization of situation caused by it in different spheres of life in different countries. At the moment, we have decided to postpone the dates of upcoming White Square to June. Exact dates will be announced in mid-April. We plan to preserve usual format of the festival with its planned competition, educational and cultural programs that will be modernized and strengthened taking into account current trends taking place around the world. In addition, we decided to accept the projects devoted to the theme of combating the epidemic and the consequences of coronavirus, into Change for Good nomination for free. Examples of such works are already there, the first were colleagues from China Advertising Association with ‘Be strong, China!’ campaign”.

This year the slogan of the Festival is Cause we can, claiming the representatives of communication industry from different countries to show the power of their creativity.

In total there were 927 entries from 15 countries of the CIS and Europe participating at the Festival. Entries have been accepted into 6 contests, 17 nominations and were judged by 5 teams of international jury – Creative, Marketing, Branding, Digital, Social advertising – 46 recognized experts, holding over 200 Cannes Lions awards.

 

The title Creative Agency of the Festival was awarded to Voskhod, Russia which received the biggest amount of trophies based on the results of judging.

The program of the upcoming festival is saturated with over 70 master-classes, seminars, show lectures, panel discussions plunging the participants into the world of innovative marketing, modern digital communications and effective creativity.
Headliners of the festival are the leaders of European communication industry that are well-known on international arena holders of numerous prestigious awards for creative and effective ideas, with over 200 Cannes Lions among them, for successful campaigns for world famous brands.

The Jurors at the creative ring of White Square were presented with five international jury categories who are 52 recognized experts from all over Europe, holders of numerous prestigious industrial awards, including more than 130 Cannes Lions.

1059 entries of 216 agencies from different countries of the world battled for IX White Square Awards. They were 376 entries in the contest of CREATIVITY, 181 entries in BRANDING , 255 entries in MARKETING, 181 entries in DIGITAL, 66 in SOCIAL ADVERTISING.

Within the festival there were held two contests for young advertisers – Young Creators Contest and Social Advertising for Young Creators Contest, which both gathered 31 projects in total.

IX White Square attracted the participants from 28 countries of Europe and CIS, including Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Greece, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and many others.
