Video marketing has emerged as a film form that harnesses the moving image to promote the brand image of companies and improve brand communication with customers. With the volume of branded content increasing and the video marketing landscape in Japan expanding, “Branded Shorts” was launched in Tokyo in 2016 as a new strand of the Academy Awards accredited "Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia" (SSFF & ASIA).
With "Branded Shorts" we are keen to showcase and evaluate fresh developments in this exciting new genre of short film. The competition is divided into two sections - national and international - and a Branded Shorts of the Year Award is awarded in both categories.
Conferences and networking events are held alongside screenings, the event taking place in June each year.
