SAN: FROM, FOR AND BY ADVERTISERS
The SAN | Stichting Adverteerdersjury Nederland, is the Advertiser’s Jury of the Netherlands. The SAN was founded in 1988 with the objective to structurally improve marcom as a profession by exploiting knowledge and experience of advertisers. Every year, Dutch advertisers submit their best marcom campaigns to the SAN, which will be judged by a jury consisting of seasoned marketing- and communication professionals working for advertisers themselves. All SAN jury members have at least 5 years of professional experience in a marketing and/or communication function. The total jury consists of 220 members.
ELEVEN JURY CATEGORIES
A campaign can be entered in one or more of the following eleven categories: Business-to-Business, Corporate (incl. Recruitment), Services, Financials, Durables, Fast Moving, Non-Profit & Government, Retail, Smart Idea, Leisure and Branding 360°. Branding 360° is an additional category for branding campaigns that truly connect and engages with the target audiences via multiple bought, owned en earned media channels. Entry for this category is only open for truly sensational campaigns that created an unmatched impact for the respective brand. The Branding 360° jury consists of all 20 chairs of the other ten category juries.
TRANSPARENT JUDGING PROCESS IN TWO ROUNDS
For all submitted campaigns, the SAN jury process consists of two steps. In the first review round, three elements will be assessed and discussed by the jury: Concept, Media & Channel Strategy and Execution. All individual jury members of the respective category will score each case individually. A campaign will receive a SAN Nomination if it scores 7 out of 10 points. All campaigns that were nominated in the first round, will be presented to the jury in the second round. The advertiser and agency are invited to give additional insights to the complete SAN jury during a presentation of around 10 minutes. Next to Concept, Media & Channel Strategy and Execution of the campaign, the Results will be assessed during the second round. At the end, only campaigns that receive a weighed score of 8 out of 10 will be rewarded with a SAN Accent.

All submitted campaigns of the previous year are collected in the SAN Annual Book. Also because of the high-quality execution of the book, the SAN Annual Book is must-have reference-book for professionals working in the marketing and communication business in the Netherlands and also for university's.

SAN is also behind the biggest advertising archive of the Netherlands online. In the archive 3,902 campaigns of the past 13 years have been stored. Each year the archive is filled more! THE EPIC SAN ANNUAL AWARD NIGHT
Every year end of May, all winning campaigns will be announced and the SAN Accenten will be handed out during a festive evening. During this night, also the winners of the ABC Accenten will be announced. A stands for Advertiser of the Year, B for Bureau or Agency of the Year and C for Consistent Accent for the most consistent advertiser of the Netherlands. Since 2014, also the SAN New Kids on the Block Accent is handed out to the most impressive newcomer agency of the Netherlands.
