The awful truth on YouTube

When advertising banners appear on YouTube, they often obscure the subtitles of the video we’re watching. Amnesty International put this irritating side-effect to good use by filling the banners below the speeches of autocratic leaders with alternative subtitles. For once, the leaders speak the truth, “admitting” they have imprisoned, tortured or ordered the execution of individuals who opposed them. The subtitles end with the line: “You’ll never hear these words from his mouth. But sadly, it’s the truth. Act now.”
