Undercover AdWords

A charity uses Google Adwords to target sexual predators

Children of the Street Society is a Canadian federal charity dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children and youth through education strategies, public awareness initiatives, and family support.

Considering that sexual predators feel they can safely search and watch child pornography online, the charity has decided to reach them during their researches, Google has enabled them to create AdWords using key terms normally restricted under Google’s Advertising Policy. These AdWords target online sexual predators precisely at the moment they search for child pornography (ie: naked kids...) —reminding them that undercover officers are online.
