Grey New York has promoted Debby Reiner, president of the agency's global P&G business, to lead the office in the newly created role of CEO.
Ms. Reiner is the first woman to head Grey's flagship office, which has about 1,100 staffers. Michael Houston previously led the New York office in his role as CEO of Grey North America, prior to being promoted to global president earlier this year.
"It is an incredible honor to be entrusted with the leadership of Grey New York as we celebrate our 100th anniversary," Ms. Reiner said in a statement. "The Grey brand has tremendous vitality and potential. I look forward to working with our talented team to capitalize on our momentum and shape our future."
Last December, Tor Myhren, former Grey Worldwide chief creative officer and New York president, left the agency to join Apple as its VP-marketing communications.
Ms. Reiner, who joined Grey New York in 1989 to work on CoverGirl, spent some time away from the agency at JWT before rejoining in 1999 to lead the global Pantene business. Prior to her most recent role, she also served as exec VP-partner and global beauty director on P&G.
