Cadbury, the nation’s favourite chocolate brand, launches today its first ever Christmas-themed campaign for Cadbury Dairy Milk.
The 60” TVC, created by Fallon London and directed by Kim Gehrig, breaks tonight on ITV during Coronation Street. The spot features a sleepy, suburban London street at dawn, entirely wrapped in Cadbury wrapping paper, recognisable by its distinctive and iconic shade of purple. Houses, cars, lampposts and even trees and road-signs are all cocooned in paper.
We then see the children who live on this remarkable street waking to discover the overnight transformation of their homes. They all come together to frenziedly and joyfully unwrap their street, culminating in two of the children tearing into a giant Cadbury snowman, which explodes to reveal hundreds of both traditional Cadbury chocolate bars, and a range of new products that have been launched this Christmas including ‘Mousse Snowman’, ‘Chocolate Santa’ and ‘Snowman and Santa Hollows’. They rain down, together with reams of purple streamers, onto children and street below.
Lily Donagh, Marketing Manager, Cadbury, said ‘We wanted to create a festival spectacle to really capture the joy of a Cadbury Christmas – and what better way to wrap a street from top to bottom in festive Cadbury purple gift paper’.
‘Cadbury is a brand with an established and well-loved place in homes across the country during the festive period. From Advent calendars and Selection boxes, to stocking fillers and tubs of Cadbury Heroes and Roses. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without Cadbury and so we felt it was about time we had a festive advert!’
The film will be on air on TV and in cinemas across the UK throughout November and December and will be available to view online on demand on Cadbury’s YouTube channel http://youtu.be/2JEygHZxzk8 and VOD.
