GroupM, MEC and Maxus announce NewCo Canada Leadership

Tim Castree, global CEO of MEC and GroupM’s “NewCo”, today announced that Ann Stewart, current CEO of Maxus Canada, will become CEO of the newly combined MEC and Maxus “NewCo” agency in Canada when it launches in January 2018.

Tim Castree, CEO of MEC and NewCo, commented: “We’re merging Maxus and MEC to form a brand new billion-­‐dollar revenue media, content and technology agency, dubbed ‘NewCo’ for now. With such ambition comes a need for brilliant talent to lead and inspire, and so today’s news is very exciting for us. Under Ann's leadership, I am confident that we will blend the best of MEC and Maxus and make NewCo Canada a formidable, future-­‐facing agency.”

About Ann Stewart

Stewart is widely recognised in Canada as an innovative and engaged leader with 25 years of diverse media experience ranging from strategic planning to operations to buying and selling. She has been in the GroupM family for 12 years. Prior to joining GroupM, Stweart was a partner in the Brainstorm Group, a full service communications agency. Stewart graduated Humber College with a degree in Marketing, and is a graduate of the four-­‐year CAPP program. She serves on the board of the Canadian Media Directors Council and is an active member of IAB, RCC and CMA. Stewart is also a former board member of NADbank.
