TitleVan Gogh BnB
BriefThis project broke down the borders between art and life, the virtual and the real. For a Van Gogh exhibition, the Art Institute of Chicago recreated the artist’s bedroom – as captured in one of his most famous paintings – and invited people to stay there for the night, via Airbnb. The media went crazy for the idea and the first block of nights sold out within five minutes. Not only that, but the exhibition became a blockbuster: “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms” was the highest-attended event in 15 years.
