Only six years after we launched our attic start-up, we’re kicking off a huge new adventure. We’ll be merging our young agency with one of the most renowned in advertising history: 180 Amsterdam. From this summer, we’ll answer the phone with ‘One Eighty Kingsday’.
Why? Well, the official reason is that we’ve rarely seen a better match and more complimentary skill sets. With modern Dutch and European work on one side and legendary global campaigns on the other. But the truth, of course, is that we love doing stuff that nobody expects.
Our Sander Volten will be heading up the new agency. So, he’ll be busy this summer.
By the end of this month we’ll move 4 doors down the Herengracht to number 506. A gorgeous building with lots of light and space, a park-like garden and all the production facilities a modern ad agency could dream of. We’ll be able to do loads of quick audio, video, 3D and photography in-house now.
MINI + BMW
On the same day we announced our merger, we were informed that we had won the BMW and MINI pitch. Champagne again. After building the MINI brand for 5 years now, being awarded the BMW account as well, feels like the biggest compliment you can get. After summer, we’ll kick-off new ideas to turn BMW into the Ultimate Advertising Machine it once was.
And the party continues
Last year we made a very successful Stroke-campaign for the Dutch Heart Foundation. In only a few week’s time we managed to raise the level or stroke-awareness to an all-time high. The Advertiser’s Association rewarded the campaign recently with the Accent Award for Not for Profit advertising. And on top of that, our new 180 colleagues did extremely well in Cannes this year. Winning two Grand Prix and several other Lions created happy and smiling faces all along the Herengracht. What a great bunch to team up with.
