Historic Saint Petersburg is a labyrinth of archways and covered passages, which is pretty handy given that it rains 200 days a year. The downside is that 4G cell phone coverage is patchy. Mobile operator Tele2 and its agency Geometry put these two facts together and came up with a sublime idea: 4G routers that work via tiny turbines powered by the pouring rain. So now the city’s citizens can check their apps and social media while sheltering from the showers.
