BriefAs the campaign suggests, Berlin used to be just as vibrant and colourful as the corporate design of BVG, which is dominated by its signature shade of yellow. But all that changed with the pandemic. We wanted to make it clear that we can only bring colour back to our lives with a high vaccination rate, so we took a radical step. We changed the entire look of BVG to black and white – from the corporate identity to a whole advertising campaign. And it truly grabbed people’s attention.Under the motto “Yellow fades to black.” we issued the appeal:“Get vaccinated now. And give Berlin its colour back.”We reached out to hold-outs at relevant touchpoints: on social media, in selected print media and via radio stations. We even sent a BVG vaccination bus out into the city, which managed 3,000 on-board vaccinations in just four days.
