ARGONAUT, the San Francisco-based advertising agency that is part of Project Worldwide, has announced today the promotion of JT Pierce to Managing Director, a first-time position for the agency. In this new role, Pierce will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s development of people and process, managing a cross-section of clients and internal departments.
On the heels of recent shifts at the agency, Pierce rounds out the new leadership team which includes Founder and CCO, Hunter Hindman, Ana Dixon, CFO, and Katie Miller, CMO.
“A shared vision and mission are paramount for the growth and evolution of an ambitious creative agency,” said Hindman. “JT has been an inspiring leader at the agency since he started, with strategic acumen that is equally matched by creative intuition and belief in our people. There’s no doubt he’s the most uniquely qualified candidate for this new role, and he is the perfect addition to round out our leadership team.”
For the last two years, Pierce served as Group Brand Director, overseeing ARGONAUT’s largest account, Cricket Wireless. Under his leadership, both business and brand metrics increased significantly. In addition to knowing ARGONAUT’s business and culture well, Pierce brings diverse expertise to his new role – drawing on his tenure working in-house and for a global consulting company. Prior to joining ARGONAUT, he worked at Deloitte Digital’s Heat, where he led the Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Bank of the West, and 24-Hour Fitness businesses as Group Account Director. Prior to that, he spent five years working at Sony PlayStation.
“This is an exciting time to be part of this dynamic agency,” said Pierce. “We have an incredible level of talent here – people who are fostering strong and productive client partnerships and creating amazing work. I’m looking forward to doing everything I can to unlock more of that to move the agency forward.”
In addition to Pierce, ARGONAUT has invested in several other senior hires recently, strengthening its team with three well-known industry talents, including one boomerang employee. Jeremy Arth rejoins the agency as Executive Producer following a stint at 215 McCann and as a freelance producer. Arth made his way back to ARGONAUT to work across the client roster, with a focus on Cricket Wireless. During his original tenure, he worked on Cricket Wireless and spearheaded the inaugural, cause-oriented campaign, FitForFood, for Fitbit.
The agency has also brought on Eric Cosper as its newest Group Creative Director to lead the Cricket Wireless business. He joins the team by way of Mekanism SF, where he served as Creative Director overseeing the agency’s Facebook and Charles Schwab businesses. Cosper has spent his career leading creative teams at Fallon, Wieden & Kennedy, Mother, and BBDO, working across brands like T-Mobile, Heineken, Dish Network and GE. In 2014, he also helped establish New York shop, Untitled Worldwide.
ARGONAUT also recently hired award-winning Creative Director, Ali Esterly, most recently of 72andSunny. Esterly joins the agency’s Cricket Wireless team. Over the course of her career, Esterly has worked with brands including Coors Brewing, Google, Kia, and Youtube.
“We are committed to being a standout creative agency and I am deeply excited about the creative firepower we have just added to an already potent arsenal at ARGO,” said Hindman.
