New York-based independent advertising agency BARKER announced that it has tapped Scott Cohn as SVP of Creative Content. The hire comes as the shop expands its branded content offering to meet the growing demands of its client roster, which has nearly doubled in the past two years.
“Content marketing, and specifically high quality, low cost idea-driven video, is the number one demand for nearly every client practicing integrated marketing,” said John Barker, Founder and Chief Idea Officer of BARKER. “Scott is one of the pioneers and most sought-after talents in that space, and we are excited to see the creativity and extraordinary value he will bring to our clients.”
Cohn previously served as Founding Partner and Creative Director of Night Agency, starting in 2004, where he helped establish the firm as a growing force in digital marketing, working with a range of clients including: Hanes, Nestlé, Keds, Estée Lauder and Nine West. Most recently, Cohn was an independent content consultant.
The industry is exploding around the power of highly creative, highly branded creative content,” said Cohn. “This year an estimated 85% of US marketers will utilize digital content strategies and my mandate is to ensure that BARKER is one of the leaders in delivering this service for brands in an efficient, affordable and engaging way."
