From Hamburg to the Rhine: new Executive Creative Director takes up new post at agency's Düsseldorf office

The BBDO Düsseldorf agency is growing dynamically and is therefore expanding its creative management team still further. With Robert Herter (37), the agency is bringing an experienced creative specialist to Düsseldorf; he will be taking up the post of Executive Creative Director (ECD) on June 1, 2016.

The recipient of numerous awards, Herter began his career with Scholz & Friends. On completion of his philosophy studies and after graduating from the Texterschmiede in Hamburg, a private school for copywriters and conceptual designers, he worked for Jung von Matt for eight years, most recently as Creative Director in Hamburg. There his clients included Edeka, Mercedes-Benz, Wüstenrot & Württembergische, and Dortmund's Konzerthaus. Many of his works have attracted both national and international attention, for example the films "Chicken" and "Sorry" for Mercedes-Benz and several campaigns for Edeka, including "Kassensymphonie", "Mann zieht Blank" and "Dorfdrift".

According to Darren Richardson, Chief Creative Officer of BBDO Düsseldorf, “Robert is an outstanding creative, his craft and experience will help us continue the creative momentum we have gathered over the past year, we all look forward to welcoming him to the BBDO family.“

Following its successful acquisition of significant new business from such clients as Blau, Mozilla Firefox, Generali and iglo, the Düsseldorf branch – which includes the BBDO Düsseldorf and Proximity Worldwide agencies – has one of the strongest growth rates among Germany's advertising and communications agencies.
