Berlin, May 27, 2015 - Berlin fashion Film Festival is releasing today its film shortlist 2015 and full 1-day programme, focused on industry professionals from the fashion, film, and advertising industries. The event, taking place at Astra Kulturhaus on June 5, is split into two parts: the BFFF Fashion Film Summit, from 9am till 5pm, and Award Show and After-Show Party - co-powered by Tinder from 8.30pm till 2am.
From the 734 submissions this year, over 100 fashion films will feature at the BFFF Fashion Film Summit; including those from established international fashion houses such as Fendi and Dior who feature the likes of Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman and Eva Padberg, as well as influential film talent such as Park Chan-Wook, Bruno Avellain and Anton Corbijn. In addition to the four screenings, creative industry professionals will be leading talks, case studies as well as panel discussions.
To highlight the rise in fashion film, Charlotte La Salle from NOWNESS will discuss the importance of short films in building brand image and its growing importance in brand’s communication strategy. Mill+ Creative Director Carl Addy will discuss Visual Effects Within Fashion, showcasing a range of work from augmented reality to in-show graphics, whereas Ms. Anne Coté and Jeremy Hofmeister Lynn from VCCP will explore the challenges of going from global to local, using as an example Converse’s Made by You campaign.
PRETTYBIRD’s Executive Producer/Head of Production Margo Mars will walk through the challenges and opportunities of engaging with consumers in new and exciting ways, using the latest cutting-edge technologies for creative communication. Lastly, the panel discussion held by Whitelodge’s Stephen Whelan, Selfridges’ Kathryn Ferguson and i-D Germany’s Alexandra Bondi de Antoni and Sebastian Hennecke and led by ZDF’s Heiko Kunzman will tackle The Status Quo and Future of Branded Content / Fashion Film.
The BFFF Awards will complete the day with this year’s twelve jury members, including Shaway Yeh - Group Style Editorial Director of Modern Media, Adriano Alarcon - Senior Art Director of FCB Brasil, David Danesi - Founder & CEO of Digital District and Alexandra Bondi de Antoni - Editor-in-Chief i-D Germany, awarding the best fashion film productions.
