Carat USA, the number one global media network and leader in digital and diversified media solutions, announced that it has promoted Chief Client Officer, Michael Epstein, to the role of President. In his new role, Epstein will oversee all U.S. client and product teams, better linking the agency’s proprietary intelligence and audience strategy to maximize impact for its clients. He will also be charged with growing the agency and its operating network through organic and new business initiatives. Epstein will continue to report to Doug Ray, U.S. CEO.

Michael joined Carat in 2013 as its first Chief Strategy Officer. Under his leadership, Carat launched its Catalyst innovation group, which pairs communication strategists with media technologists to deliver different and better solutions for clients. He also helped Carat continue its new business momentum, landing Dannon and MasterCard, among others. In 2014, Michael was elevated to Chief Client Officer, taking responsibility for Carat’s entire portfolio of clients such as Pfizer, Disney, Red Bull, The Home Depot, and Macy’s.

“Michael has shown an unparalleled ability to not only drive our product agenda, but do so with our clients’ business interests front and center. This has made him a trusted partner for our internal teams and clients alike,” said Doug Ray, CEO, Carat USA. “From the start, he was committed to our culture of collaboration and appetite for innovation. I am delighted that he will now have an even greater ability to leverage our resources in the most effective way to help our clients win in the digital economy.”

The promotion comes at a time of unprecedented momentum for the agency. Since 2010, Carat has doubled in top line growth, leading to a recent restructuring of the agency’s business, which places further emphasis on capabilities critical to future success.

“Over the past several years at Carat, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the sharpest talent and clients in the industry. The agency’s ability to navigate the digital economy on behalf of our clients to deliver business outcomes is unmatched in the industry, and I’m privileged to be a part of this organization,” said Epstein.

Prior to joining Carat, Epstein was President of Strategic Resource and Client Services at Mindshare, where he was responsible for overseeing all digital media services for North America, new business, multicultural and promotions, and key client relationships. Epstein’s work and leadership have received recognition within several industry organizations, and he’s a well-known thought leader on the topics of media convergence and innovation.
