Creative production company Derby announced today that it signed acclaimed director Roberto Serrini to its growing roster of modern directors.
Serrini is an award-winning director who has worked with a wide range of visionaries in the fashion, travel, beverage and automotive industries, including Nike, The New York Times, Google, Victoria’s Secret, Belvedere Vodka, The Lincoln Motor Company, Adidas, Kate Spade and more. He creates high-concept and visually-innovative projects on which he involves himself from start to finish. Formally trained in film theory and photography, Serrini started his career as an editor at V2 and jumP before transitioning to thelab where he was the Director of Motion Media. Since then, he has seamlessly evolved into an acclaimed director with a diverse skill-set, built off his ability to passionately craft story from a post/theory background and photography talents. Beyond filmmaking, Serrini has a dangerous passion for global exploration, dedicating any time not on set as a staff writer/photographer for the global travel publication Get Lost Magazine.

His work has been recognized by numerous industry awards, receiving an ADC Gold Cube and a One Show Silver Pencil, and has the honor of having pieces included in MoMA’s permanent collection. Serrini’s films have been selected as Vimeo’s Staff Picks, and he’s garnished a number of wins in several international film festivals for both directing and editing. He is also a notable and established drone operator, having shot in many countries around the world for brands such as Honda, San Pellegrino, Bad Boy Records, Interscope Records, and multiple tourist boards, and has been a judge of the world renowned NYC Drone Film Festival, now in its 4th year.
Serrini joins the diverse roster of award-winning Derby directors, including The Bozzwicks, Catherine Orchard, John Poliquin, Josh Hayward, Lucas Borras and Nickolas Duarte.
