FilmBrazil Production & Post Companies Capture The Magic of the 2016 Olympics in Rio

For the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, the digital campaign "Our Favorite Sport is Making Movies," created by ad agency Peppery, brought together sports figures from around the world with the top production & postproduction talent of Brazil. While everyone was watching the Olympic Games this summer, FilmBrazil (the international division of the Brazilian Association of Production Companies -- APRO, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency -- Apex-Brasil), drew the attention of the international advertising industry. This new campaign highlighted the Olympic spirit and the importance of teamwork, proving that the best films are only possible because of highly skilled and dedicated professionals behind the scenes.

The new campaign created by ad agency creatives at Peppery, included Directors Carlão Busato of Hungry Man and Alex Miranda of Trator Filmes; audio producers Pedro Magrão of A Voz do Brasil, and Jair Oliveira, S de Samba and Paulinho Corcione of Lucha Libre. All these talents were chosen to make up this creative team, which is divided into five "artistic sports," ranging from “Most Accurate Hearing” to the “Loudest CUT Shout.”

FilmBrazil has made a compilation of several sport movies produced by members of the project. Some of them were among the most watched videos worldwide of the Rio Olympics 2016.

The FilmBrazil 2016 events have included: the “Brazilian Directors Showcase” in Los Angeles in February -- and the premiere of the feature film “Jules and Dolores,” from Prodigo Films; the O2 Films Panel: “Immersive Content: The Future of Storytelling”; and Brazil Night, all at the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, in March. FilmBrazil initiatives at the Cannes Lions Festival in June included the very popular “FILM[ME]BRAZIL campaign, and for the 2016 Olympics in Rio in August, FilmBrazil produced the “Our Favorite Sport is Making Movies” campaign. FilmBrazil’s slate of events for 2017 will be unveiled this Fall.
