Motive Expands North American Footprint Into Canada

Project's Motive Goes Global With New Office in Canada + Exec Appointment

Motive, a 21st century creative agency known for delivering disruptive, culturally driven brand campaigns and activations, is opening its first international office in Canada. This move comes as a result in part of Motive’s expanded partnership with PepsiCo North America and an overall growth initiative aimed at diversifying into new markets.

 

“We’ve been executing international projects for our clients for many years, so it was only a matter of time before Motive expanded outside US borders to more efficiently grow our relationships and capabilities,” said Motive CEO Matt Statman. “Toronto, Canada is the first international hub for us as it was clear that now is right time to make this move.”

We have years of experience and a strong history of work that truly moves the needle for brands throughout the PepsiCo portfolio, and can’t wait to bring that to a new audience in a great country.”

 

The Toronto team is led by Motive Account Director Brian Flaman, formerly of Mosaic North America, where he spent a decade in the Toronto office leading major brands such as The NFL, Samsung, LEGO and Walmart, in the areas of experiential, shopper marketing, social, and content production. He also garnered awards overseeing Mosaic’s pro bono work for The Children’s Wish Foundation, granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

 

Flaman joined Motive in December 2018 to lead the agency’s Canadian expansion, and will oversee client services and new business development. He reports to Mike Cole, vice president at Motive.

 

“Motive has this sense of grit and hunger to do really cool work for really cool brands, and I have always had an entrepreneurial drive that I wanted to take to the next level. The opportunity to support and lead an agency through their Canadian expansion was something I couldn’t pass up. It was clear to me that Motive had established an amazing name for itself down south and I am excited to be a part of extending that same power north of the border,” said Flaman.

 

This outpost also marks the first official Canadian office for Project Worldwide, the holding company to which Motive belongs.
