Publicis Milan, the most awarded Italian agency in the last years, has appointed the multi award-winning duo Luca Cinquepalmi and Marco Venturelli as its executive creative directors.
The internationally recognized pair are the former executive creative directors of the Havas Group owned agency Les Gaulois. Their appointment has been made as affirmation of Publicis Italy’s dedication to provide creative excellence, champion innovation and to lead the change for its clients.
Joining the international and strong creative department of Publicis Milan, Cinquepalmi and Venturelli’s focus will be on leading the creative evolution of Heineken, since Publicis Worldwide was awarded the global account for the iconic drinks brand earlier this year. The account is being run out of Publicis Italy.
They will report into Bruno Bertelli, the CEO of Publicis Italy and Western Europe ECD, and Cristiana Boccassini, the executive creative director of Publicis Italy to ensure quality creative output and collaboration across all accounts.
Cinquepalmi and Venturelli have won numerous international awards including 16 Lions at the Cannes Lions Festival for campaigns such as Citroën Picasso- Daddy, Citroën Picasso Dog Citroën Shopping, Transavia E-Bay, Transavai Snack Holiday and other.
Prior to their creative leadership at Les Gaulois, the pair were creative directors at Agence H in Paris.
Cinquepalmi began his career as an art director in London, where he worked for agencies including McCann, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis and BBH. In 1995 he returned to Italy, working for agencies BBDO, JWT, Publicis and Euro RSCG. It was at Euro RSCG that Cinquepalmi and Venturelli met and began collaborating. Venturelli’s career had developed in Italy between agencies BGS D’Arcy, Publicis and DLV BBDO.
Bruno Bertelli, CEO, Publicis Italy and Cristiana Boccassini, executive creative director Publicis Italy said: “In June it was announced that Heineken has decided to entrust its entire brand communications to Publicis. In these recent years Publicis Italy, even if managing only part of the communication, had won numerous international awards by creating successful campaigns that have led clients to choose it as an exclusive partner. When the Heineken assignment was confirmed, we had no doubt about who to call. Luca and Marco have strongly valued experience alongside an outstanding reputation. Over the years we have built an agency whose value is recognized globally. A result gained by trying to surround our self with very talented people and the capacity to tackle major challenges successfully. Including Luca and Marco at the head of our Heineken team will allow us to raise the quality of the bar of our work and to face even greater challenges.”
Luca Cinquepalmi and Marco Venturelli, executive creative directors of Publicis Milan said: “We’re extremely happy to be part of Publicis Italy and to have the opportunity of working with Bruno and Cristiana in helping to consolidate the value and the reputation of this agency. We are very proud that they have thought of us for this job.
We expect a lot of work, but we’re not afraid at all, in fact it’s very exciting and we look forward to developing campaigns that makes clients ever more proud to work with Publicis”.
