The Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase is a highlight of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, with enduring popularity and a reputation for kick-starting the careers of some of the leading film directors working in the film industry today. High profile directors selected in the past include; Tarsem, Michel Gondry, David La Chappelle, Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham.

This year for the first time, the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase is coming to London. A screening of the showreel on Thursday 4th July will be commentated by Robert Senior, Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi's Worldwide Creative Board. The screening will take place in a state of the art theatre, at one of London's leading centres of creativity on the Southbank, and will be an unprecedented opportunity for people who were unable to see the NDS in Cannes, to watch the reel in London with the added bonus of a panel discussion featuring leading directors, producers and creatives.

Robert Senior, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi EMEA and Chairman of the Worldwide Creative Board said: “The London screening of the New Directors’ Showcase provides a unique platform to share the stories behind the selections, the films themselves and the craft that goes into creating them. It will be a little taste of Cannes for anyone who couldn’t make it, and we hope also, a source of inspiration for local future directing talent.”

Andy Gulliman, Saatchi & Saatchi Executive Broadcast Director commented: “The 2013 New Directors’ Showcase features gifted young directors from the UK, Russia, Europe, USA, Hong Kong and South America, proving that the NDS really is a global representation of a ‘new director’. This year’s reel; demonstrates the power of the Internet in exposing raw talent; proves that music videos are still a great source of creative inspiration; and whilst it reveals some exciting new techniques, it also underlines the durability of traditional filmmaking techniques such as a strong narrative, accomplished editing and great casting.”

The NDS London screening is proudly presented with the support of partners Cannes Lions and LBB Online, and sponsored by; Academy Films, Adstream, Eclectic, Electric Theatre, Great Guns, Hungry Man, Outsider, Sonny London and WAM.
